Summer is not just a season of sun, beach vacations and rest—it’s also a powerful opportunity for reflection, creativity, and building new income streams.
As an educator and/or purpose-driven professional, you already have a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion. Now is the perfect time to Package your expertise into a business, Attract your audience, Implement your offer, and Diversify your income—using what I call the P‑A‑I‑D Launch Plan.

Whether you’re already an entrepreneur or just getting started, the P‑A‑I‑D method gives you a clear, manageable way to build something meaningful and profitable—especially during summer break when your schedule may offer more flexibility.
Let’s break it down.
What is the P‑A‑I‑D Launch Plan?
While my best selling motivational book, The PAID Educator, outlines my renowned four-step P-A-I-D approach for strategically discovering Prospects-Allies-Information-Dollars, I often play on the acronym to provide additional guidance for entrepreneurs. For the purpose of preparing your launch plan, P-A-I-D stands for:
P: Package your expertise
A: Attract your audience
I: Implement your offer
D: Deliver and diversify
This is a roadmap I’ve used in my own journey as a portfolio entrepreneur—with businesses in curriculum development, consulting, publishing, and leadership coaching—and it works whether you’re launching a side hustle or scaling your current brand.
Step 1: Package Your Expertise
This is where you take inventory of your strengths and ask: What am I really good at, and how can I serve others with my knowledge, skills and abilities?
Think about:
Your background in education, the arts, leadership, or community work
What people always ask you for help with
What lights you up when you teach or share
To inspire your thoughts and ideas, here are examples of products and services I’ve offered:
A virtual workshop for early educators
A downloadable parenting guide
A consulting package for nonprofits
A coaching session for women leaders
A themed curriculum for early learning programs
Summer To-Do: Choose ONE offer to get started. Name the offer and describe the result it delivers. Keep your offer and description simple and transformational. As I recommend in the book, scroll through websites like Teachers Pay Teachers for inspiration.
Step 2: Attract Your Audience
Who needs what you’re offering? And how can they find you?
Your ideal clients are already online—scrolling social media, opening emails, attending conferences, and looking for trusted voices like yours.
Ways to attract them:
Create a free resource (aka “lead magnet”) like a checklist or downloadable guide
Post value-packed tips on Instagram, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn
Start an email list and nurture it weekly
Ask current contacts to refer others
Summer To-Do: Create ONE simple freebie to start growing your audience and email list. Software such as Canva + Google Drive + Mailchimp are your best friends. Remember that educators are often granted FREE or discounted subscriptions, so please take advantage of these offers you so greatly deserve.
Step 3: Implement Your Offer
With your offer packaged and the audience primed, it’s time to launch. You don’t need a fancy website or big team—just a plan.
Launch timeline:
Week 1: Tease the offer, ask questions, build interest
Week 2: Share the transformation your offer provides
Week 3: Open cart—start selling!
Week 4: Share testimonials and close strong
Tools to consider:
Zoom or Google Meet (for workshops and coaching)
Wix, Kajabi or your current business website (for digital products)
Stripe, PayPal, or your bank’s merchant processing system (for payments)
ConvertKit, Mailchimp or the newsletter feature on your website (for email marketing)
Summer To-Do: Map out a 4-week launch plan for your offer. Pick a platform, set your date, and commit. Save time and money by choosing one platform with comprehensive features you can optimize for your full launch and continual business operations--website management, email marketing, product sales, payment processing, newsletters/emails, booking, events…
Step 4: Deliver and Diversify
Deliver your offer with excellence, get feedback, and think about what’s next.
Every product or service you launch becomes a stepping stone to your next stream of income.
Ways to diversify:
Turn your workshop into a course
Combine offers into a bundle
Repurpose content into a workbook or podcast
Offer a higher-level program or group coaching
Summer To-Do: Decide how you’ll deliver your offer and write down 2-3 ways you can repurpose it for future growth.
Why Summer Is the Time to Start
As educators, many of us finally breathe in the summer months. With fewer demands, lighter schedules, and the headspace to reflect, it’s the ideal time to build a business that aligns with your calling and lifestyle. As you know, ALIGN is my 2025 Word of the Year, so it’s very important in every area of my life.
Please know that you don’t have to complete all the steps I’m recommending at once. You just need to start—with intention, clarity, and a plan that pays off.
Let this summer be the one where you stop waiting and start building.
