Giving Tuesday is more than a one-day push. It’s a call to build lasting change, and the Dr. Bisa Foundation offers a powerful, multifaceted way to do just that. Here’s why your support matters, and how it helps real people access education, opportunity, and economic stability.

Why the Dr. Bisa Foundation’s Work Matters
Early years set lifelong pathways. Research confirms that the first five years of a child’s life are critical, primarily because around 90% of brain development occurs before kindergarten.
High-quality early childhood education creates long-term benefits. Children who participate in quality early education programs tend to enter grade school better prepared, develop social and emotional skills, and are more likely to thrive academically and socially over time.
Smart investment for individuals and communities. Studies show early childhood programs deliver some of the highest returns of any workforce development investment - improving education, health, future earnings, and reducing crime, social costs, and inequality.
Supporting ambition at all ages. Providing early care and education resources, scholarships for higher education, and entrepreneurship development, the Foundation recognizes that education and opportunity don’t start, or end, in preschool.

The Foundation’s Three Core Programs
Early Care & Education
Through this program, the Dr. Bisa Foundation provides educational resources to economically disadvantaged child care centers, family child care learning homes, and community programs serving young children in Georgia. The goal is to upgrade learning environments and improve academic outcomes, giving children a strong start when they are most vulnerable to inequity.
By investing, you help ensure young learners get access to quality care and education that supports comprehensive child growth and development - emotional, social, intellectual, physical, as well as ongoing family engagement and school readiness.
Higher Education
The Foundation offers scholarship funds to help students facing disadvantage pursue undergraduate degrees at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Georgia.
This opportunity supports individuals who might otherwise be shut out of higher education, helping them achieve their potential, break cycles of disadvantage, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Each year, the Foundation distributes funds directly to institutions of higher education in Georgia through their local foundations and fundraising endeavors, such as the Albany State University Annual Scholarship Gala and University of Georgia's Black Alumni Association/1961 Club. We sometimes designate funds for specific programs, such as early childhood education majors and student organizations. In addition, the Foundation supports community organizations with like missions by donating funds to directly support their causes, including sororities, fraternities, and local nonprofit organizations.
Entrepreneurship & Business Development
For aspiring small business owners and entrepreneurs in Georgia, the Foundation provides coaching, courses, and networking opportunities to help grow profit-level brands.
This work transforms ambition into sustainable economic opportunity, enabling adults to forge financial independence, create jobs, and fuel broader community prosperity.

Why Give to THIS Nonprofit Organization
Your gift goes beyond charity; it’s an investment in a better future. Supporting early learning programs and entrepreneurship helps break cycles of inequity, poverty and disadvantage by building long-term economic and educational opportunity.
You multiply impact across generations. A child who experiences strong early care and education, and later a scholarship, or an adult who launches a business... Both create a ripple effect to strengthen families, communities, and the broader economy.
Our programs align with research-backed best practices. From brain development to economic returns, evidence shows early care and holistic support offer powerful returns, not just for recipients but for society as whole.

A Brighter Future Together
On this Giving Tuesday, and every day, the Dr. Bisa Foundation gives us a powerful way to invest in human potential - by supporting children in their earliest years, enabling higher education for ambitious students, and empowering entrepreneurs to build meaningful livelihoods.
Your gift is more than a donation; it’s a vote of confidence in futures that might otherwise never have a chance. If you believe in opportunity, equity, and the power of education and entrepreneurship to transform lives, now’s the time to stand with the Dr. Bisa Foundation.
Thank you in advance for your support!
